About Us

We are a UK registered charity, a well-established independent Sunday Language School, the largest in Greater Manchester area. We have been providing Chinese language education to children aged 5-18 from all sorts of background for nearly three decades, widely recognised as one of the best of its kind, famous with our high-quality teaching and professional management.

As a registered exam centre, we offer Edexcel exam service for Chinese GCSE and A Level. Almost all our students achieved A* or A in Chinese GCSE exams in the past.

Located in the University of Manchester’s Oxford Road campus, the School opens each Sunday during term time. It is supported by the University and Manchester City Council.

If you want to learn Chinese language, in either Mandarin or Cantonese, understand Chinese culture, or meet Chinese friends, please come and join us!

Admissions

Registering with the School: The School is a membership-based charity, you are required to apply for the membership first before your child can attend the School. Please see the Admission Policy.

Age: Children who want to join in must be 5 years old or over by the 1st of September this year.

School time: The School opens on Sundays during term time. Mandarin classes are between 10:30am and 12:30pm; Cantonese classes 1:30pm to 3:30pm. Please visit Calendar page for further details.

The School is run by volunteers. It would help us a lot if you can check our FAQs  (a link pointing to the page) page first before calling/emailing, most of the common enquiries are answered there.

The enquiries sent to the School's mailbox during holiday time will be answered a week prior to the School's starting date.

The classrooms are located in Mansfield Cooper Building and Samuel Alexandra Building, Oxford Road campus, the University of Manchester.

We are currently recruiting Teachers & Volunteers

Teachers (Mandarin or Cantonese)
Job description :

Teach Chinese ( Mandarin or Cantonese ) during the class; Prepare teaching materials before class, eg. lesson plan.

Working hours :

Sundays during term time.

Requirements for candidate:
  • have passion in teaching and love children
  • be creative and highly motivated individual
  • be enthusiastic in Chinese education and culture
  • possess excellent communication skills
  • be reliable and responsible
  • be capable of both written and verbal communication in English
  • be an experienced user of Email and Internet

Previous experience in teaching and/or working with children would be an advantage.
